Ingredients
1 cup - Rice, parboiled rice like ponni
1/4 cup - toor dal
1 No- Onion, finely chopped
2 Nos - medium size tomato, finely chopped
8 - medicum size Garlic cloves
1 No - Green Chili
2 Nos - Dried Chili
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, food coloring
2 tbsp Coriander leaves
1 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard
1/4 tsp cumin seed
1 spring Curry leaves
1tsp Salt
Water - 3 cups
Preparation
Rice and dal must be cooked before Wash and soak the rice for 20 minutes.
Take a cooker, add oil, mustard, cumin, green chilies, curry leaves, and dried chilies, then add the onion and garlic. Fry till the onions are tender and browned. Add the tomatoes, turmeric, and salt. Fry until the tomatoes are crushed.
After that, combine the rice and dhal with the water, and wait for it to boil for 5 minutes. Check the salt at this point, then add the coriander leaves and close the lid for 5 whistles.
