Kanji & Thuvaiyal


Mappilai Samba Rice Kanji

1cup  - mappilai samba rice- break it and 
5 cup water
15 garlic
1 tbsp pasiparuppu
1 tsp fenugreek 
salt
Preparation:
Once water it boiled add the rice. once it's cooked, add the coconut

Green gram kanji
-----------
5 cup water
3/4 Raw  rice
1/4 cup broken green gram
4 pal poondu
1/4 milagu powder
1/2 tsp fenugreek

Once it's cooked , 
coconut + 2 shallot + cumin - grind and add it into the kanji

drumstick and millets kanji
---------------------------

1/4 cup kuthi
1/4 varagu
1/4-thinal
1/4 - samai
1/4 pasi paruppu

soak in water for 15 mins

Grind
1 tsp - pepper
1/5 tsp- cumin
1/4 sombu
2 - vathal



15 shallots crushed
15 poondu
1 tomato
1/2 turmeric 
masala grinded one

add 2 cups drumstick leaves finally and cook for 8 mins.

samba wheat kanji
-------------
1 cup 
1/4 cup green gram 
15 mins soaked

4 cup water
1 tsp - fenugreek
5 garlic
salt

once cooked, add cooconut milk

Ulutham Kanji

5 cup water
3/4 cup rice
1/2cup uradhal
10 garlic
1 tsp fenugreek
salt

soak 10 min 
---

Add the below masala once the rice is cooked.
masala -  fry below item without oil and grind with water  
1 tsp - kadala parupp
1/2 tsp sombu
1/2 jeera
1 dry chilli
1/4 cup grated cocont


Thuvaiyal  recipies

Kothamalli Thuvaiyal 

Fry without oil

1 tsp toor dal
1/4 cup coriander seeds
4 dry chili small size
4garlic - small one

while grinding add it
tamarind-nellaikaii
2 tbsp - coocnut
2 curry leavs

after grinding add water 1 tbsp and grind again

Paruppu Thuvaiyal 
----------------
fry without oil

1/4 cup toor dal
2 dry chili
4 garlic

while grinding add it
tamarind-small size
2 tbsp - coocnut
2 curry leavs
salt 

after grinding add water 1 tbsp and grind again



Kollu Thuvaiyal 
----------------
fry without oil

1/4 cup kollu dal , it starts popping while frying then switch off 
2 dry chili
2 garlic

while grinding add the kollu first  add it

tamarind-nellaikaii
1/4 cup  - small size
2 curry leavs
salt 

after grinding add water 1 tbsp and grind again



Ellu Thuvaiyal

fry without oil

1/4 cup kollu dal ,low flame  it starts popping while frying then switch off 
2 dry chili
2 garlic

while grinding add the kollu first  add it

tamarind-small size
1/4 cup  - coocnut
salt 

after grinding add water 1 tbsp and grind again

goes for palaya sadam

Coconut Thuvaiyal

1/2 cup  - coocnut
1 green chili
3 garic 
salt 
curry leaves

after grinding add water 1 tbsp and grind again
